Table default status
Set a Default Status for a Table or Lounge Area
In BeZoned, you can automatically update a person’s Status when they move to a specific table or lounge area. This helps your team instantly communicate availability and context -without manually changing status each time.
In this guide, we show you how to set a default status for a table and how it works with Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Set a Default Status for a Table
Follow these steps to assign a default status:
Go to your virtual office view in BeZoned.
Right-click on the table or lounge area you want to configure.
Select Default status from the menu.
Choose the status you want to apply automatically (for example, Available, Busy, or a custom status).
Confirm your selection if prompted.
From now on, when someone moves to that table, their status automatically updates to the selected default.

Check If a Table Has a Default Status
You can quickly see whether a table has a default status assigned:
Go to the office view.
Hover over the table with your mouse.
Look for the status indicator shown in the table preview.
This makes it easy to identify collaboration zones, focus areas, or lounge spaces at a glance.
Change Your Status While Sitting at a Table
A default table status does not lock your availability. You can still:
Manually change your Status at any time.
Let your status update automatically based on Microsoft Teams activity.
Have your status change automatically if you are in an Outlook calendar meeting or marked as away.
BeZoned continues to sync with Microsoft Teams and Outlook, ensuring your status always reflects your real-time availability.
Use Cases and Best Practices
To get the most value from this feature, consider:
Setting Busy for focus areas.
Setting Available for collaboration tables.
Using different statuses for lounge or informal spaces to signal openness to conversation.
This helps improve communication, collaboration, and transparency in hybrid and remote work environments.
What’s Next
Review your virtual office layout and decide which areas should automatically signal availability. Small adjustments can significantly improve remote team coordination and productivity.
