BeZoned Sidebar: Use

The sidebar app helps you stay connected in BeZoned while working in other applications. In this guide, we explain what each part of the sidebar app does and how to use its main controls. By the end, you will know how to move the app, manage your microphone, check who is at your table, and update your status.

To use the Sidebar, first install it on your computer. Once installed on running, it will automatically connect to the BeZoned office you are in.

Once connected, you will see the sidebar app in the side of your monitor, allowing you to use your entire screen for other apps while still being able to see who is at your table, participate in conversations, chat and much more.

Overview of the sidebar app window

1. Drag the sidebar app

Use the drag handle to place the sidebar app wherever it is most convenient on your screen.

If you use multiple monitors, you can also drag the sidebar app from one screen to another.

The sidebar app remembers its position the next time you start your computer.

2. Minimize the sidebar app

To hide the sidebar app, click the minimize button.

To show it again:

  1. Click the sidebar app icon in the system tray on Windows or the menu bar on Mac.

  2. Select Maximize.

3. View your current table

The sidebar app shows the name of the table or meeting room where you are currently placed in the BeZoned office.

This helps you quickly confirm where you are in the office without switching back to the main app.

4. View your avatar

You can always see your own avatar and current status in the sidebar app.

To open your avatar menu, click your avatar. From there, you can check your schedule for the day and access the same options available in BeZoned.

5. See who is at your table

The sidebar app shows other people who have placed their avatars at the same table as you.

This makes it easy to see who is available to talk when the microphone is enabled. When someone is speaking, their aura pulses so you can quickly tell who is talking.

To interact with someone at your table, click their avatar. This opens the avatar menu, where you can:

  1. View their schedule

  2. Send them a message

  3. Start a Microsoft Teams meeting

6. Control the microphone

You can click the microphone button at any time to turn your microphone on or off.

The sidebar app also supports global push-to-talk. This means the push-to-talk keyboard shortcut you set in the office works even when you are using another application.

For example, if you are browsing a website and hear your colleagues talking, you can hold down your assigned push-to-talk key and start speaking right away.

7. Chat in the office

The sidebar app gives you quick access to the same chat available in the office.

You can use chat to message:

  • The table you are currently at

  • The entire office

This makes it easy to stay in touch without leaving your current task.

8. See and change your status

To change your status or update your status message, click the status button.

You can use it the same way you do in the main BeZoned office.
